Sophie is a Directors’ Guild (DGGB) accredited filmmaker, based in London, a graduate of the National Film and Television School (NFTS) talent campus. 

Sophie’s work stems across the industry, having directed commercial work for Peroni and BMW amongst others, but her primary interest lies in narrative fiction. She has collaborated with a variety of major organisations such as Channel 4, the BBC and the BFI, and her work has been positively received by both Empire Magazine and TotalFilm.

Sophie studied BA (Hons) Film Studies at Kings College London and has premiered four of her films at the BFI (British Film Institute) as well as at the Pinewood Studios cinema.

Sophie’s projects have been supported by Film London, Pinewood Studios, BAFTA, Creative England and Creative Skillset, and in 2012 she was one of the first directors to be accepted onto the BFI Film Academy program for the nation’s most promising young filmmakers. Her last film, SWOON, was selected to premier at the BFI Future Film Festival, as well as Underwire Film Festival Quarterbacks where it earned her a nomination as Best Director.

After having worked in the TV department of M&C Saatchi, Sophie was the creative producer and director at The Wagon TV. Now she is a producer and director for major clients at production company VisMedia, as well as working as a freelance director. Her personal creative projects are produced under production company Radix Films which she formed in 2014 with Channel 4's Timothy Root. She is currently in post production on 20 minute short film, THE TRIP, starring Sope Dirisu (Utopia, The Mill, Humans) and Gillian Saker (Misfits, Ripper St).
